COVID-19: Keeping you and your pet healthy

You’re part of our family and we’re committed to keeping you safe and to being there for your pets. Be assured, we’re here – call us at 320-252-6700 or email us at [email protected] if you need us.

Here’s an update on a few things we’re doing:

???? HOW WE’RE MONITORING COVID-19
We’re constantly receiving updates from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). We’ve ramped up sanitization efforts, and especially in high-traffic areas like our lobby and exam rooms. We already follow the meticulous cleaning/disinfecting standards of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and we use medical-grade disinfectants that are effective against coronavirus, influenza and many other pathogens.

STEPS WE’RE TAKING IN OUR OFFICE
There’s no current evidence to suggest that animals spread this virus, so we’re focusing on things we can do to prevent people from passing it to each other.
???? We’ll be happy to meet you at your car! If you feel sick or have concerns about coming inside, give us a call. ☺️ If your pet has an appointment, we can do a check-in outside, bring your pet inside and deliver them back to your car after the examination/treatment is over. We can process payments via credit card over the phone and will mail or email you a receipt. If you need us to bring medications or food out, one of our team members can do that too.
???? We’re keeping hand sanitizer freely available. We encourage you to wash your hands or use the sanitizer immediately after entering and before leaving the hospital.
???? We’re asking that families leave pets’ personal items at home. This includes beds, blankets, toys, etc. We have plenty of these on hand and we’ll make sure everyone is comfortable!
???? We’re asking that you clean any carriers, leashes and collars as carefully as possible before arrival with an alcohol-based solution.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
???? If you think you may have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath), or are concerned about others having it, please don’t be shy about telling us. If you have traveled internationally in the last 14 days or have been to an area in the United States with a high rate of cases, please call us from outside the hospital to discuss this ahead of any visit.
???? As much as we’d love to shake your hand, high-five or hug sometimes, our hospital is a no-contact zone right now. Please don’t take offense to this – air high-fives are way cooler anyway.
???? Have a plan for your pets. We recommend keeping a 2-week supply of food and medication on hand, as well as sanitary supplies. It’s also a good time to identify a friend or family member who would be able to help your pet if needed.

Don’t forget we have an online pharmacy for all of your pet’s medications! You can order through Vetsource via our website at companionsweb.com. These items will come right to your front door!

Need food? We’ve got your back on that too. Sign up for Hill’s to Home and get it delivered directly – it’s super easy. Just give us a call and we’ll get this set up for you!

We appreciate all the thoughtful questions and feedback we’ve been getting in recent days. Be safe, be calm and wash your hands. Know that we’re all in this together and together we’ll get through this!
